Digital Converter BoxI bought a digital to analogue TV converter today (DTX9950) at Radio Shack for $20 after the government coupon. I would say that I am really happy to have got this. Using the antenna I won a few days ago, I was able to pick up many new stations that I can not get with DirecTV. ![]() Beetle Dash ProjectBefore: Painted by Macco in 2000. Paint wasn't applied that well so it peeled off easily. It was okay though since it was hidden by the dash pad. ![]() 2009: Removed the dash pad and all the old paint. Filled some holes and sprayed gray primer. Needs some more smoothing and some more holes need to be filled.
~Happy 설날 ^^ Happy New YearHappy New Year! Painted laptop I got bored so I painted parts of my Laptop. It is a satin burgundy and they type of paint I used was Krylon Fusion. I think that it came out very well. ![]() ![]() ![]() Ten Dollar Laptop I bought two IBM Thinkpads for $20!! They're kind of old but still work although a little bit slow. One had an ethernet card that surprisingly works still. The computers were running Windows 2000 but the seller didn't know the login password. First I tried out DamnSmallLinux, PuppyLinux, and Fluxbuntu Linux. DSL and Puppy worked okay but I didn't like the way every thing was laid out. Next I tried to install Fluxbuntu but I had some video problems. Anyway, Fluxbuntu looked pretty nice, but I didn't really like the way it was laid out either. Finaly I installed Xubuntu Linux and it's working fine now. I'm still making little tweaks to my tastes but I haven't had any big problems yet. I plan to just play around with these laptops and use them for the Internet and IMing. Future plans: *More memory *Wireless USB adapter *New Battery IBM Thinkpad i1300. 500mhz Celeron 128mb ram Xubuntu 8.04 PenguinPenguin San Diego TripI had so much fun ^^ September 9....Balboa Park September 11..Sea World and Mission Beach September 13..Legoland and Horton Plaza I had a great time with you 은미 ^^ Thanks :) Goodbye Casey1996 - 12 June 2008 LinuxI have been using the newest Ubuntu Linux (Hardy Heron) for about a month now and I have to say that I am very impressed with it. I really do enjoy using it over Windows XP. It just feels so much faster than XP and I like how it performs...well, most of the time ;-) It's a little buggy, but not so much as my installation of XP was. Sure I do miss some of the programs that are were on Windows, such as MSN messenger, and Yahoo messenger but the program that I use for them in Linux is not that bad (Pidgin). There are some things that really puzzle me since I can't figure out how to do them in Ubuntu (such as change your msn password), but if I need to do something like that I can always just use Windows for that task since I still have it on my computer. Well, people say that Linux isn't for everybody, but I think that it's good for me. I'll think that I won't be able to completly free myself from Microsoft since there are some things that have to be done in Windows, but I know that I am free from all the headaches of XP. It's not that I hate Windows XP, it's just that I feel Linux does a good job for what I usually do on the Internet. I will probably use Ubuntu linux from now on. ~! R A N D O M P E O P L E:]아이고!
